Bio for My New Job at Sera Phi in San Francisco

Tom Jenks has been intensely exploring and researching shamanism since 2007, by engaging reality and learning from direct experience of the mysteries. He has read over 80 books on topics such as non-dualism, mysticism, Zen, entheogens, the Mayan Calendar, transpersonal and Integral psychology, chaos magick, quantum theory, contemporary shamanism, and 2012. Tom’s path of awakening has lead him deep into the solitary pursuits of meditation and contemplation in nature, as well as into ongoing visionary collaboration with the Burning Man community since 2008. He has delved into many neoshamanic technologies, such as audiovisual brainwave entrainment with mind machines, Random Event Generators, floatation tanks, and biofeedback devices, however ancient technologies like the drum, rattle, visual art, ritual and ceremony, have not escaped his wide ranging interests.

In March of 2011, Tom was generously gifted the resources to travel across the country, from Maine to California, to participate in the many neotribal, trance music and visionary art festivals, where he has connected with peers and elders, and learned more than he could have imagined. He continues to connect with the many creative and shamanic communities in the San Francisco Bay Area, and constantly finds new ways to collaborate on exciting new projects.

Tom’s passion is to create the most interactive, immersive, and mind-manifesting environments as possible, to unveil the world of the psyche, and open awareness to novel information. He believes that with technology such as biofeedback, which projects the processes of mind, onto the seemingly outside world, one can experience the dissolution of the apparent boundaries between self and other, mind and matter. These mind-manifesting experiences and reveal-ations have been crucial in catalyzing his understanding of reality as the creation of one divine being, remembering it’s eternal essence, through myriad forms and experiences.

As a shamanic practitioner at Sera Phi, Tom adds his unique gifts to the already potent mix of conscious collaborators and visionary healers. He offers biofeedback training with high-definition projectors and vibrational sound healing, to strengthen Heart Coherence through breathing techniques and heart centered emotion. After completing a 2 week healing intensive in core shamanism in March, Tom is also keen to help fellow explorers connect with guides, and the hidden intelligence within, through shamanic drum journeys. There are many opportunities for exploring consciousness at Sera Phi, and Tom is excited for the incredible healing and trance-formative endeavors yet to come.

Auspicious beginnings, colorful opportunities...

I've miraculously connected with the multi-dimensional and visionary sound healing space called Sera Phi, at 1117 Howard Street, in downtown San Francisco. I'm blessed to be working on these projects, of creating immersive and interactive environments for shamanic sound healing, by integrating biofeedback projections, vibrating sound beds, empowering art, and other synasthetic, mind-manifesting technologies like cymatics devices and Random Event Generators.

Sera Phi is a unique venue, bursting with consciousness technology that enlivens the heart, mind, and spirit. It is a place where our attention to being, our presence of awareness in this moment, and our joy for the adventure of creation, shine forth in all that we do. As modern shamanic practitioners, we are driven by the timeless quest for the most powerful tools and techniques, to guide fellow adventurers on the most trance-formative journeys, into the depths of our own Being, to reconnect with the eternal Source, Light, and creative the Spirit within. It is our hope that these visionary experiences will spark a new freedom, awaken a new joy, and empower us all, to step forth onto the mythic canvas of life, and gracefully embody the essence and fullness of our Being.

We find that presenting spaces for interaction, play, and dynamic challenge, leads to unique creative opportunities for exercising new found abilities of communication, resulting in profoundly meaningful, shared experiences of understanding. In certain shamanic environments, the normal boundaries of self and other, can be relaxed into a shared "we space," where costumes are interchangeable, and where different characters easily find new expression, and new freedom, by intuitively adding their novel insights to the story.

 By participating in epic dramas and mythic tales, we unlock our unique gifts for the world, and push the acceleration of novelty and trance-formation ever faster, to unveil worlds yet unseen, and gaze upon radiant vistas of mind, echoing across the pages of our lives, unfolding eternity through time.
